2018 Playoffs - Round 2

11. march 2018 at 10:57 | Maestro |  Scores & Schedule

Playoffs - Round 2 (11/3 - 18/3)

_____________________________________________________

(1) Alaq vs Doberman (12)

Alaq wins the series 4-0

Career head-to-head matches: 2-0 for Alaq (2:0, 4:1)
Pre-game preview, by Alaq:I have to say that some of the first round results were utter shocks and Doberman eliminating Maestro was probably the biggest one of them. In the regular season, Doberman won just 1 of 22 games played versus the opponents that ended up in the playoffs but then was able to get the great result in the round one. He's certainly hungry for more so I'll have to play every game with the insane focus. Historically, in all leagues that I've played, my play-off performances have been disappointment so hopefully I can turn it around in this campaign.
_____________________________________________________

(2) North Star vs MyFrend (11)

Nort Star wins the series 4-1 (5:3, 3:1, 2:0, 2:3, 4:2)

Career head-to-head matches: 2-0 for North Star (2:1, 3:0)
Pre-game preview, by North Star: Never before played with Myfrend in the playoffs. He is a very experienced player, he started playing online much earlier than me. Besides, in the 1st round he already knocked out the favorite Ice Cold. What do I expect from the series with him? The answer is simple - good connection. Unfortunately, the connection with him leaves much to be desired. The game has a huge delay on its host, it will not be easy to play there. The key to winning over him is only one - a successful game on the home arena. I hope the fans of "Barclays Center" will be the 6th player for me.
_____________________________________________________

(3) KonopesMaster*** vs FixxxeR (8)

Konopes wins the series 4-2

Career head-to-head matches: 2-0 for Konopes (6:3, 3:2)
Pre-game preview by FixxxeR: Battle with Konopes will be very interesting. I lose both games in regular season, but games were equal. Ovechkin is the main danger with which I need to be particularly careful.
Konopes is the most titled player in EMLH and the best player of EMLH history, so beat him will be very hard, but I will try to do this.

_____________________________________________________

(4) SteelMaster vs GargamelMaster (10)

Steel wins the series 4-2 (4:1, 6:3, 4:5ot, 0:3, 2:1, 2:1)

Career head-to-head matches: 3-1 for Steel (4:3, 3:5, 4:2, 3:2)
Pre-game preview by Gargamel: I only played Steel four times but i know he is a top player. His defensive play and manualgoaltending is one of the best i've seen. On the other way my offensive play isn't as good as i want this season.
That's why Steel is the favorite, but as last season playoffs or vs TibOrr i improve my gameplay when i play without pressure. We will see....I hope it will be an entertaining series.

Guys can you write some comments, couple of sentences, what decided, decisive moments of the series?
Thanks a lot in a name of all other players and visitors of this league.

3 Maestro Maestro | 14. march 2018 at 9:58 | React

I guess it's a big success for MyFrend although he was kicked out in the 2nd round. Looking at his career stats he was never able to win a single playoff game in his career from 2012, and this year he won 4 against Ice Cold in the first round plus added 1 win against North Star in the 2nd. For me as an admin it's really nice to see some players to step up this year (Doberman too!) Good job! 8-)

MIN 4-0 TBL (results sent via mail)

Thanks for playing, Doberman.

@ Konope, Fix, Steel, Gargamel

please send me on ICQ game previews of your series before you play your games.

@ Alaq, North

could you please summarize your winning series in couple of sentences?

@ Dobe

I know you rather let talk your games. Anyway, now the game cannot talk itself. Could you please summarize the series with Alaq and whole season in couple words?

Thanks to all! :-)

I haven't got much to say honestly. Doberman was playing very solid defensively, he was taking away the passing lanes, which is something that a lot of players don't do. However, this day the luck was on my side and my players managed to advance to semifinals. Good luck to Dobermann in the next season, I think despite 2nd round elimination it was a good campaign for Ukrainians in EMLH.

Well, what to talk about? won the strongest . The sopernik is capable of scoring in many ways. If I did not give the opportunity to score the usual variants, there was an additional option. As for my attack, despite the score, there really was enough good chances in every game.But. 1-my excitement at the implementation of the moments. 2-Perfectly played Dabnik.3- Was not enough luck. Possibility to impose a more serious fight was. Win-no. In addition, irritated the style of the opponent's game in defense with the pressed button of the shoot. But my opinion is adamant, we do not need this hockey. It's not baseball. By this method, you just kill hockey.
As for the season, I started well. The calendar allowed me to even lead for a while. At the end of the regular season, I made it to the playoffs in a hard fight, ahead of Joseph. The series with the Maestro turned out very interesting. There were several turning points where luck was on my side . I take off my hat in front of the skill and the Maestro's play. The man played himself and let the opponent play. It really looked like real hockey. Thank you.

Sorry I did not read these comments, I was following comments under the playoff treee picture, I thought that is where everyone would comment but no. I would have written a review if I knew.

However if I dont forget, I will comment my series vs Fixxer late this evening when I get home

15 konopes konopes | 22. march 2018 at 21:44 | React

my summary of matches vs. Fixxer

Fixxer was very tough opponent, I did not play for weeks and I was rusty, Fixxer was very good in forechecking, he is one of the best players in forechecking department I ever played, he could score from long distances as well as from other situations (one-timers, breakaways, from behind the net...)

his defense was good too, he is very strong in taking away passing lanes, which hurt my offensive play, considering cross-ice onetimers used to be my strong weapon, and since I was rusty, I was not so effective in offense

there were lucky goals on both sides, matches were very close and I was lucky to go through in what seems to be my very last season in NHL
